Twine Biller is now available in the QuickBooks app marketplace, giving accounting and bookkeeping firms another way to discover a tool built around client software subscription management and rebilling.
The commercial issue behind Twine Biller is simple: are the fees firms charge for client software keeping pace with what those subscriptions cost?
A fixed client fee does not mean the software costs inside it stay fixed.
A supplier changes its prices.
An introductory discount ends.
A client adds licences or employees.
If the change does not reach the billing review, the firm can absorb the difference without making a deliberate pricing decision.
Why this work deserves attention
Managing software for clients involves more than choosing an application. Someone needs to know which subscriptions belong to which clients, what each costs, how discounts affect that cost and what the firm has agreed to recover. The purchase decision, supplier invoice and client billing process may involve different people.
That separation can make a small change difficult to spot. A subscription that looked commercially sensible when the engagement began can produce a different result months later. An annual fee review may identify the issue eventually, but it cannot replace a consistent process for noticing changes as they occur.
Twine Biller helps firms track, manage and rebill software subscriptions purchased on behalf of clients. It supports a clearer view of subscription costs and the billing decisions associated with them.
How QuickBooks fits
Twine Biller creates invoices that firms send to QuickBooks Online. Clients receive QuickBooks invoices without needing a separate Twine Biller account. The destination of those invoices is distinct from the way subscription data enters the process; firms should assess the data sources and import methods relevant to their own setup during a demonstration or trial.
The value of that workflow starts with the information behind the invoice. Firms still decide what to include within an engagement fee, what to charge separately and when a client conversation is needed. Better visibility makes those choices more informed.
“Firms put a lot of thought into choosing technology for their clients. The costs of those tools need the same attention. When prices or subscriptions change, firms need to see what that means for their billing and margins. We built TwineBiller to make that work easier to manage, giving accountants and bookkeepers more time to focus on their clients,” said Trent Yesberg, Co-Founder of TwineApps.
Availability and getting started
Twine Biller is available in Australia, the US, the UK, the EU, Canada and New Zealand. Supported transaction currencies are AUD, USD, GBP, EUR and NZD.
The 45-day free trial is designed to give firms time to experience two billing cycles. A credit card is required. The trial automatically converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends, and users can cancel at any time.
